Three in a row for Lions - www.realfooty.com.au

The Brisbane Lions have become the first AFL team since 1957 to win three premierships in a row after beating Collingwood by 50 points in today's grand final.
The Lions came into the game slight underdogs but could not have been more impressive in the first half, holding a commanding 11.7 (73) to 4.7 (31) lead at the main change.
The Lions are the first side to win three straight premierships since Melbourne did from 1955-57.
Despite the selection intrigue in the build-up to the game, both sides played their selected sides. "

Brisbane has stormed its way into a third consecutive grand final with a stunning last quarter. At the last break it appeared as though the Swans were going to run right over them but it wasn't to be. Early goals gave the Lions confidence and Sydney waved the white flag before the half-way mark of the term.

GOALS: Syd – Hall 2, Cresswell, Roberts-Thomson, Davis, Kennelly, Ablett, Williams. Bris – Lynch 3, Pike 3, McGrath 2, Brown 2, Caracella 2, McRae, Black.

COLLINGWOOD has thrashed Port Adelaide by 44 points at the MCG to book a berth in its second successive AFL grand final.

The Magpies led at every stage to win the preliminary final 17.10 (112) to 9.14 (68).
Skipper Nathan Buckley, Shane Woewodin and Brodie Holland were among the Magpies' best, while Leon Davis and Chris Tarrant booted three goals apiece.
The only down side for Collingwood came when vice-captain Anthony Rocca was reported after an incident with Power ruckman Brendon Lade.
The Magpies will meet the winner of tonight's second preliminary final between Sydney and Brisbane in next Saturday's grand final.

COMPUTER VIRUS ALERT

New email bug spreading fast

An Internet virus posing as a security update from Microsoft had been spreading quickly through e-mail, security experts said today. more

Email worm masquerades as protector

www.smh.com.au

Anti-virus companies have warned of a new computer worm circulating through email that purports to be security software from Microsoft Corp but actually tries to disable security programs that are already running.
The worm, dubbed 'Swen' or 'Gibe', takes advantage of a two-year-old hole in Internet Explorer and affects systems that have not installed a patch for that security hole, according to the internet security company Network Associates Inc.

The malicious program arrives as an attachment to an email pretending to contain a patch for holes in Internet Explorer, Outlook and Outlook Express and then mails itself off to addresses located on the victim's computer.
The worm also can spread over internet relay chat and the KaZaa peer-to-peer network, as well as copy itself over shared networks, Network Associates said.

When it infects a computer it alerts a website that appears to be counting the infections, according to Symantec Corp, another internet security outfit. The number of the counter was near 760,000 yesterday, Sydney time.

Network Associates rated the worm a low risk for corporate users and a medium risk for home users. The company and rival Symantec, among others, were offering anti-virus updates that detects and removes the worm.

Microsoft has cautioned customers in the past against email software updates, saying it does not distribute patches that way but rather directs them to its website.
